Michael's family practice encompasses the full range of matrimonial proceedings, with particular experience in ancillary relief trials, custody disputes, and non-molestation orders. He has appeared in the Family Court in a variety of contested and uncontested matters, from urgent injunctive applications to full ancillary relief trials.
His forensic accounting background is especially valuable in asset tracing and financial disclosure matters — a critical aspect of many ancillary relief proceedings where one party may have concealed or dissipated assets. Michael is able to analyse complex financial records, corporate structures, and investment portfolios to assist the court in understanding the true financial picture.
In addition to matrimonial work, Michael advises on probate disputes and related tax issues. He has contributed to academic commentary on family law reform, including a published article in the Hong Kong Lawyer on the Children Proceedings (Parental Responsibility) Bill.
